September 1 — “Curtain” by Flock of Dimes

Jenn Wasner

I sincerely apologize for the lateness of this post, but it’s still (barely) September 1 where I live. I have nobody to blame other than the brewmaster from Stone Brewing Company.
In our continuing series on bands who will be playing at the 2012 Hopscotch Music Festival next weekend, today we’ll take a look at Flock of Dimes.

Flock of Dimes is the solo project of Wye Oak frontwoman Jenn Wasner. Unlike the indie folk/indie rock awesomeness of Wye Oak, this is awesome in a completely different way. Flock of Dimes is an electronic thing. Not too bleep bloop-y, though.

Since I have no time to waste, I’ll get right down to it. Today’s song:

“Curtain” by Flock of Dimes

“Curtain” will be released as a 7″ single on September 25, and is available for pre-order from Merge Records here. It’s limited to 1000 copies, so act now.

Flock of Dimes isn’t on the actual Hopscotch roster, but she’ll be playing Friday afternoon during the free “Day Party” at the Pour House. Wye Oak will be playing Saturday night 11:30 to 12:30 at Lincoln Theatre.
